Fitzroy Place, London

Traditional Lift Products have recently completed the design and manufacture of three full scenic lift car conversions in accordance with EN81-1 and EN81-70 at Fitzroy Place in London.

The high specification lifts are a stand out feature within the atrium of the building and were required to meet the highest of architectural demands. The lifts which were a conversion of a standard Otis Gen2 system were fully glazed on all three sides and back painted around the perimeter from the base of the lift up to finished floor level.

Bronze powder coated cladding surrounded the centre of the lifts to create an exposed feature whilst hiding all car frame steelwork.

Fully glazed Sematic car doors and stainless steel hinged top canopy doors completed the external features of the lift.

Inside the lift car there was stainless steel front returns, handrails, maintenance panel and COP. 3000K LED light panels housed within stainless steel slim line frames where present in the ceiling and underneath the lift car.

Once complete, the lift was mounted within a purpose built shipping frame allowing it to be lifted and turned onto its front. This enabled the lift to be transported to London on a suitable vehicle and moved through the building via the wheels on the shipping frame.

The lifting points on the shipping allowed the lift to be turned into the shaft as a complete unit severely reducing the installation time of the lift system.
